This quick guide shows you how to create your custom task in Builder Expert #
Define details, add resources, and organize your estimating workflow for better control.
- Log In to Your Account
First, log in to your Builder Expert dashboard here:

- Navigate to Settings in the top main menu and click Account.
From the dropdown menu, select Tasks.
- Click Create Task in the top right corner.
- In the dialog box, select the Phase, Group, and Unit, then enter a Name for your custom task.
- A list of available resources will appear. In the middle menu, choose a category such as Labour, Materials, Plant, or Other, then click the plus (+) icon next to the resource you want to add to the task.
- Enter the resource quantity — it will be automatically calculated per task unit and added to the total, including all resources within this task.
- Repeat this step for any other resource categories you wish to combine in your custom task.
